Uncover the wildly beautiful scenery of America’s Pacific Northwest. Travelling through the states of Washington, Oregon and California, this tour showcases everything from snow-topped volcanoes and wave-cut cliffs to deep-blue caldera lakes and soaring redwood groves. We’ll call in at quaint coastal towns and culture-packed small cities, and the tour is bookended by two of America’s most cosmopolitan metropolises, Seattle and San Francisco. Day 1: UK to Seattle

Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Seattle. On arrival, we transfer to the Mayflower Park Hotel (4T) for a two-night stay.

Day 2: Seattle

Get your bearings this morning with an orientation tour of the city, including a visit to the Space Needle. From the top of this 1962 hourglass landmark, the 360° observation deck offers you fantastic views of the ‘Emerald City’ and the lakes and mountains beyond. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Day 3: Seattle – Portland

We stop at Mount St Helens Visitor Center on our way down to Portland, Oregon. Set up a few years after the 1980 eruption, you can watch a feed of the volcano’s current seismic activity and gaze up at its snow-dusted slopes across the glassy waters of Silver Lake.

Day 4: Portland

Enjoy a full-day tour of Portland today, including Pioneer Courthouse Square and a stroll through the serene spaces of the Portland Japanese Garden.

Day 5: Portland – Bend

Scenery comes on a grand scale today. We view Multnomah Falls, which cascade down from the glaciers and snowfields of nearby Mount Hood. There will be spectacular views of the Columbia River Gorge and Bonneville Dam, before we make our way down to Smith Rock State Park, with towering basalt cliffs dotted with rock climbers. We finish up in the charming small city of Bend, home to bohemian boutiques, artisan coffee shops and craft breweries.

Day 6: Bend – Newport

We make our way to the coast today, passing through the beautiful Willamette National Forest as we cross the Cascade Range. The seaside town of Newport is famous for its seafood – this evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 7: Newport

Enjoy a day at leisure on Oregon’s central coast in the lovely town of Newport. Browse the galleries and bookshops around Nye Beach, or perhaps head down to the Bayfront area for a bowlful of fresh seafood chowder.

Day 8: Newport – Ashland

On our way out of Newport, we will stop off at Yaquina Bay for a photo stop at the 19th century lighthouse. Continuing down Highway 101, we call in at Sea Lion Caves, one of the few mainland rookeries of these fascinating creatures, before stopping for lunch in Coos Bay. Leaving the coast behind, we travel cross-country to the little town of Ashland, just north of the Californian border.

Day 9: Crater Lake National Park

Today, we travel to Crater Lake, formed 7,700 years ago by the eruption of Mount Mazama. Fed purely by rainwater and melting snow, the waters here are some of the clearest in the world. The surrounding slopes of the volcano are blanketed in woodland, with plenty of viewpoints for taking in the scenery.

Day 10: Ashland – Redwood National Park – Eureka

Crossing from Oregon into California, we make our way back to the rugged Pacific coast. A scenic drive takes us through Redwood National Park, one of a group of parks declared as an International Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site, for our first glimpse of these colossal trees. We’ll also make a brief photo stop at The Carson Mansion, one of the most written about and photographed Victorian houses in California.

Day 11: Eureka – Humboldt Redwoods State Park – San Francisco

Our first port of call today is the Avenue of the Giants, one of the most famous scenic drives in the country. The route – a section of the old Highway 101 through Humboldt Redwoods State Park – takes us through forests filled with towering redwood trees. From here, we plot a course south towards Kendall-Jackson wine estate for a tasting in the heart of Sonoma wine country. We finish up in San Francisco and check in to Parc 55 San Francisco.

Day 12: San Francisco

This morning, you’ll get to know the ‘City by the Bay’ with a guided tour that includes Fisherman’s Wharf and Lombard Street. The afternoon is yours to discover the sights and sounds of San Francisco under your own steam. Opt for a cruise around the bay, walk the length of the Golden Gate Bridge, or perhaps venture back to Fisherman’s Wharf for fresh crab and clam chowder by the water.

Day 13: San Francisco – In Flight

Enjoy a leisurely morning before we transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
