Since regaining independence in 1991 and recently joining the E.U., Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are flourishing. The countries’ rich and colourful history can be best appreciated in their capital cities, which have beautiful architecture, while the surrounding countryside features lakes, forests and wetlands, dotted with manor houses, medieval castles and splendid rococo churches.
Fly from London (regional connections available) to Tallinn. Transfer to the L’Ermitage Hotel (or similar) for a welcome drink and a 3-night stay.

Hotel L’Ermitage is located on the edge of Tallinn’s Old Town. The design of the hotel is contemporary and fresh, with stripped wooden floor and modern art work by local artists. All rooms at the property are bright and decorated with pastel colours. A breakfast buffet is served at the classically furnished hotel restaurant, which specialises in Estonian and international dishes. At the lobby bar, guests can relax in front of the fireplace and enjoy a wide range of drinks.
The hotel Vilnia is a brand new 4-star hotel in the heart of Vilnius’ Unesco listed old town. It is a boutique-style hotel in a historic building that once housed Lithuania’s first independent newspaper. Rooms, which vary in size, are fresh, modern and well equipped, and the restaurant offers Lithuanian and European cuisine.
