Day 1: Welcome to Verdon!

There will be an optional and complimentary 4pm coach transfer from Nice airport to La Palud for all independent flight arrivals. The transfer time is approximately 2 hours, which means there is time to check in and relax before dinner.

Should you arrive into Nice really early you can make your own way to the hotel or you can take a trip into Nice while you wait.

There is a luggage storage at Nice airport, this is located in terminal 2 only between 6am and 11pm for a cost of €14 per bag for ever 24 hours. To get into Nice there is a bus called ‘Nice Centre Express’ that runs roughly every 16 mins for a cost of €6 each way.

Day 2: Fisherman’s Trail

We take a short transfer to la Colle de l’Olivier where we take a pleasant and shady circular walk along the Verdon river. We’ll discover tufa waterfalls and cross the natural reserve of Saint Maurin.

Day 3: Moustiers Sainte Marie

Today we visit one of the most picturesque villages in France and from here we follow the Plain of the Durance and the ravine du Riou to reach the farm of Vincel. From Courchon we descend to Moustiers Sainte Marie by the Roman road.

Day 4: Trigance-Belvedere of Rancoumas

We discover the village of Trigance before following the cliff path of Serriere du Preil to the small hamlet of Entreverges and the belvedere of Rancoumas. Here we have wonderful views of the cliffs of Escales and the gorge itself.

Day 5: Martel Trail

From Point Sublime, considered one of the most beautiful belvedere of the gorges, we traverse a succession of tunnels, bridges and stairs to reach the bottom of the gorge. Here we join the Martel Trail, which winds along the Verdon to Maline. This is an adventurous and exciting walk.

The stairs will require a head for heights as this is a dramatic drop into (or out of) the gorge and will require a level of commitment. Once we are in the only way out is forwards to the end or to turn back which could mean going back up all the stairs you have just come down.

For this walk you must be carrying a torch, warm jacket, 2 litres of water and have good walking boots.

Day 6: Bastidon Trail

We take a short transfer to Mainmorte ravine, where we follow an out and back route called the Bastidon Trail which runs through the upper part of the gorge. As we follow the path, we can look almost 700m into the gorge as well as see more than half a dozen viewpoints.

Day 7: St Maurin Caves

We start at the foot of the Natural Reserve of the caves of St Maurin. From here we start the climb to the Col de Plein Voir, and follow the ridge to a view point on the mouth of the gorges and Lake St Croix.

Day 8: Au Revoir Verdon!

We have one optional transfer from La Palud to Nice airport at 10am (arriving at the airport at approx. 12:00 noon) for independent departure flights.
