Days 1-2: Vancouver

Fly to Vancouver today, where on arrival you check into your hotel. You are introduced to Vancouver on Day 2 with an insightful tour of the city, taking in highlights such as Gastown, the totem poles at Stanley Park, and the unique architecture of Chinatown. Your afternoon is at leisure to explore this vibrant city further, and there is plenty to keep you occupied in one of Canada’s best-loved cities.

Day 3: Kelowna

Leaving Vancouver behind today, you coach to Kelowna, stopping in the town of Hope for free time to get lunch. Your coach continues via the mountainous Coquihalla Pass, traversing stunning landscapes and reaching 4,000ft in altitude as you make your way to Kelowna. You pause en route for the opportunity to sample some of the local wines the region is famed for, before you arrive at your hotel, where you are free for dinner.

Day 4: To Banff

Leaving Kelowna behind today, you continue by coach to Revelstoke, where you have some time at leisure to enjoy lunch. You continue to Banff this afternoon on a fabulously scenic drive, passing through yet more of Canada’s incredible landscapes. You spend two nights in Banff.

Day 5: Lake Louise and Yoho National Park

Experience the glorious natural beauty of Banff today on a full-day excursion. First explore Lake Louise, a spectacular glacier-fed body of water surrounded by soaring peaks and dense pine forests. After time to enjoy the serene atmosphere of the lake and its surrounds, continue to the Spiral Tunnels and Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park. Emerald Lake is known for its fantastic colours, and with free time to enjoy the sight, now might be a great time to practice your photography skills. Later, return to the hotel.

Day 6: The Icefields Parkway

Today your excursion takes you by coach along the world-famous Icefields Parkway, a 144-mile road that links Banff with Jasper and cuts through some of the world’s greatest mountain scenery. You arrive at the Icefields Centre at the foot of the vast Columbia Icefields. Take the time to marvel at the Athabasca Glacier, with a short while at leisure here. You may also wish to arrange a snocoach journey across the glacier (payable locally). You continue along a lake-lined valley past many of the highest and most rugged peaks in the Rockies, where you pause en-route at a number of scenic spots, including the crashing waters of the Athabasca Falls.

Days 7-9: The Canadian

You are at leisure today to enjoy the charms of Jasper. Later this afternoon youboard The Canadian, for an iconic journey across the country. Your on-board accommodation is ‘no-frills’ yet comfortable, consisting of a cosy berth shielded by a heavy curtain for privacy, and access to shared bathroom facilities in the same sleeper car. During the day, wander to one of the observation cars for incredible views of the spectacular Canadian landscape the train passes through, on this truly iconic journey. You enjoy some of the most striking scenery on the route, passing pine forests, glaciers, plunging canyons and soaring peaks as you journey through Jasper National Park.

Day 10: Toronto

Your adventure on board The Canadian ends today, as you pull into the dynamic city of Toronto. Toronto boasts a wealth of museums and art galleries, excellent restaurants and thriving shopping areas, as well as the world’s longest street, Yonge Street, and the dramatic CN tower – which was the world’s tallest free standing structure for many years. You then transfer to your hotel.

Day 11: Niagara Falls

This morning, you take an excursion to the US Canadian border to see the incredible Niagara Falls, one of the wonders of the world. You have a tour of thundering falls, and enjoy some time to soak up views of the cascading water before transferring to Niagara-on-the-Lake, where have time at leisure to explore the picturesque Old Town and pretty, flower-filled streets.

Days 12-13: Home

After checking out, you have a guided tour of Toronto today. Later this afternoon, bid a fond farewell to your adventure, as you are transferred to the airport for your flight back to the UK, where you arrive on Day 13.
