Day 1 – Fly to Nairobi

Fly from London (regional connections available) to Nairobi. Transfer to the Tamarind Tree Hotel (or similar) for an overnight stay.

Day 2 – Aberdare National Park

Drive to Aberdare, arriving for lunch, followed by leisure time. Stay at The Ark (or similar).

Day 3 – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Spend 2 days on safari in pristine Ol Pejeta. Optional activities include a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Stay at Sweetwaters Serena Camp (or similar).

Day 4 – Ol Pejeta Conservany

Spend another day in Ol Pejeta

Day 5 – Great Rift Valley

Drive to Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley for a talk about conservationist Joy Adamson, to sample special Kenyan teas and to visit the museum. Stay overnight at Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge (or similar).

Day 6 – Masai Mara

Transfer to the Masai Mara – one of Kenya’s most famous wildlife reserves. All of the ‘Big Five’ can be found here, as well as hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, bat-eared foxes and hippos. Admire this wildlife and their habitat alongside expert rangers. Stay for 3 nights at the Zebra Plains Mara Camp.

Day 7 – Masai Mara

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives or take an opportunity to relax and unwind.

Day 8 – Masai Mara

Spend a further day amongst the wilds of the Masai Mara with more game drives.

Day 9 – Depart from Nairobi

Transfer by road to Nairobi and enjoy the use of dayrooms at the Tamarind Tree Hotel. The afternoon is at leisure before transferring to the airport to fly home via Jomo Kenyatta airport.

Day 10 – Depart from Nairobi

Opened in 2017, The Tamarind Tree Hotel is a superior property situated adjacent to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. The property includes all the facilities one would expect of a modern international hotel including a restaurant and bar-lounge. For those seeking to relax, an outdoor swimming pool is also located on site.

Sweetwaters Tented Camp, Ol Pejeta

Built in the 1970s, Sweetwaters Tented Camp’s main building was originally the residence of the ranch manager of the Ol Pejeta Private Conservancy in which it is located, approximately 200km north of Nairobi. Accommodation is in 56 luxuriously appointed tents, each with a thatched roof, an en suite bathroom and a veranda or balcony.

Zebra Plains Mara Camp, Masai Mara

This boutique safari camp huddles in the plains of the Masai Mara, one of Africa’s most famous wildlife reserves. The property appeals to nature photographers thanks to its scenic vantage point and frequent visits from the Mara’s roaming, photogenic animals.
