Day 1 – Departure

Arrive at the airport and take your overnight flight to Johannesburg.

Day 2 – Arrival in Livingstone

Upon morning arrival, you’ll promptly connect to a 1 hour and 50-minute flight to Livingstone, Zambia, where our hotel is conveniently situated within walking distance of Victoria Falls.

Later, unwind and refresh before a tour highlight: a serene sunset cruise on the African Queen along the Zambezi River. Glide across this wildlife-rich river, spotting hippos and crocodiles, while relaxing in shaded wicker armchairs, enjoying refreshing drinks, and connecting with fellow travellers amidst the remarkable scenery.

Day 3 – Victoria Falls

This morning, enjoy a guided walking tour of Victoria Falls, a breathtaking natural wonder. It’s the largest single body of falling water globally, three times longer and twice as high as Niagara Falls. The falls are surrounded by a lush rainforest ecosystem nourished by its misty spray, creating an unforgettable experience.

Rainbows arch through the mist, and the thundering falls make conversation nearly impossible. It’s a natural wonder that leaves visitors in awe, especially during peak flow when the spray obscures the falls’ base. In the dry season (typically Sep-Dec), adventurous visitors may approach the edge or even swim in the pools.

During low water flow, opt for a boat trip to Livingstone Island, where David Livingstone first glimpsed the falls. For an ultimate view, consider optional helicopter or ‘micro-light’ aircraft flights on the ‘Flight of Angels’ tour.

Our three-night half-board stay at a safari lodge seamlessly integrates with the natural surroundings.

Day 4 – Chobe Safari

Experience the thrill of a morning game drive in the African dawn, accompanied by a unique ‘dawn chorus.’ In specially adapted 10-seater open-sided safari vehicles, we seek out big cats, giraffes, and elephants in Chobe National Park, a vast unfenced reserve spanning over 10,500 square kilometres. Spot diverse wildlife, including impalas, monkeys, warthogs, kudus, and, if fortunate, leopards. The birdlife is equally impressive, with sightings of pied kingfishers, African skimmers, ibises, ground hornbills, and vibrant bee-eaters.

Following our game drive, we return to the lodge for mid-morning relaxation by the pool and a leisurely lunch.

Day 5 – Free day in Chobe

Today is a free day at your lodge. You can unwind and make the most of the excellent facilities or opt for additional activities like game drives or river safaris in the heart of Africa. One exciting option is to try your hand at fishing for the formidable tigerfish.

Day 6 – Flight to Cape Town

After breakfast, we return to Zambia via the Chobe River, then fly from Livingstone to Cape Town via Johannesburg. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel, conveniently situated within walking distance of the V&A waterfront. Cape Town, with its iconic Table Mountain, pristine beaches, and nearby Winelands, is South Africa’s vibrant, historic ‘Mother City.’

Day 7 – Cape of Good Hope

This morning, we drive to Cape Point, visiting the legendary Cape of Good Hope, the southernmost point on the African continent, once known as the Cape of Storms. Our journey takes us past pristine beaches, the Hout Bay fishing harbour, and the stunning Chapman’s Peak Drive, offering rugged seascapes and cliffs. We arrive at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, a global biodiversity hotspot. At Cape Point, witness the meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Ocean currents and the historic rocky promontory that has challenged mariners for centuries.

Our next stop is Boulders Beach, home to a resident penguin colony, before returning to the city in the afternoon. Lunch is included today.

Day 8 – Winelands

Today, you explore the stunning Winelands, nestled in a valley with picturesque mountains as a backdrop. Rows of well-tended vines and orchards extend into the distance, adorned by 300-year-old wineries in the unique Cape Dutch style, harmonizing with the natural landscape. Later, you visit the charming town of Franschoek, beautifully situated at the valley’s head, and then elegant Stellenbosch, founded three centuries ago and home to South Africa’s prestigious university. The town’s historic buildings and streets exude a dignified ambiance.

The day includes lunch and an opportunity to explore the town before a captivating cellar tour and tasting at the award-winning Neethlingshof Wine Estate.

Day 9 – Free day in Cape Town

Cape Town, with diverse influences, is one of the world’s most naturally beautiful cities. Today, you have free time to explore its offerings.

Discover shopping and dining at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Don’t miss the iconic Table Mountain; take the revolving cable car for breathtaking views. Consider visiting Robben Island (weather permitting), where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. Explore the charming Bo-Kaap area.

Alternatively, wander freely or relax with afternoon tea at the historic Mount Nelson hotel—the choice is yours.

Day 10 – Return home.

Your final day in Cape Town is again at leisure, before transferring to the airport at the appropriate time for your return flight to Heathrow via Johannesburg.

The Signature Tour includes everything from the Classic Tour as well as the following:
