Walking and Trekking Holidays
A walking holiday gives you an incredible opportunity to linger over spectacular landscapes, deep gorges, rolling hills, picturesque villages, dramatic coastlines, lush meadows and incredible wildlife. Savour some of the most beautiful places on the planet and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Follow in the footsteps of famous explorers as you trek through Sherpa country in Nepal to reach Everest Base Camp in the Himalayas, a must for any serious trekker, not least for the stunning views of Everest itself at every turn. Or scale the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa. Some of the finest walks can be found in the Rockies and this region unsurprisingly attracts thousands of enthusiastic walkers each year. Many avid walkers have a tick list of iconic walks, and this often includes the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, the 15th Century citadel only known to the outside world since 1911 and not long ago voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
Walking and trekking holidays cater for all standards. From woodland rambles and meandering riverbanks up to challenging peaks and dramatic valleys. They invariably feature stunning scenery and will leave you relaxed and invigorated, and with a tremendous sense of achievement. We offer guided walking holidays with an experienced and knowledgeable group leader, and also self-guided trips that offer greater freedom but with professional support and back-up if required.
Our top tip - when you’ve been trekking uphill for a couple of hours and your legs are starting to get weary, be sure to look behind you on a regular basis as these are often the most incredible panoramas. And vistas that you, in a sense, have created so you deserve to bask in the glory. Even inclement weather, oddly enough, doesn’t detract from the sense of pride. So lace up your walking boots, pack a couple of energy bars and let us take care of the rest for you.
