Day 1: Fly to Toronto
We depart from London Heathrow to Toronto, arriving mid afternoon. Our hotel for two nights is the Chelsea Hotel, located in the heart of Toronto's downtown, close to many of the city's main attractions.
Day 2: Exploring Toronto
We enjoy a guided tour of Toronto, visiting many of its captivating highlights. The rest of your day is at leisure.
Day 3: Niagara Falls and The Canadian
Our excursion today takes us to the incredible Niagara Falls, truly one of the natural wonders of the world. During our time at the Falls you have time to experience the awesome power of crashing waters, either from the viewing area or at the foot of the thundering Falls on board the boat here (payable locally). We continue to Niagara-on-the-Lake, where we have free time to explore.
Day 4-5: On board the Canadian
Our first full day on board is spent crossing the Canadian Shield.
On Day 5 we arrive in Winnipeg, a fascinating city which is home to over 50 ethnic communities. The train stops in Winnipeg for the morning, giving us the opportunity to explore
Day 6-7: Through the Rockies to Jasper National Park
After passing Edmonton, we begin the climb into the foothills of the Rockies passing pine forests, glaciers, plunging canyons and soaring peaks. We arrive in Jasper in the early afternoon and spend the night surrounded by majestic mountain scenery.
Day 8: Banff National Park
Today we experience the spectacular natural beauty of Banff National Park, visiting the Spiral Tunnels, as well as the majestic Emerald Lake, renowned for its vivid colours, and the idyllic waters of Lake Louise.
Day 9: The Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops
We embark on a daylight journey through the Rockies on the world-renowned Rocky Mountaineer.
Day 10: The Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver
Our Rocky Mountaineer experience continues on one of the most dramatic stretches of the line, travelling along the Thompson and Fraser Canyons. As you keep your eyes open for Canadian wildlife, the line descends towards the Pacific Coast, arriving in Vancouver where we stay for 3 nights.
Day 11: Discovering Vancouver
Vancouver, widely regarded as one of the most desirable places in the world to live, combines its breathtaking setting with beautiful architecture and a perfectly-pitched way of life. It is among Canada's largest cities, and its port is the largest on North America's west coast.
Day 12: At leisure in Vancouver
Today, you are free to experience Vancouver at leisure. Why not take the bus to Grouse Mountain, and take the Skyride cable car (payable locally) for fantastic views over the city? Known as the 'Peak of Vancouver', the mountain is open year-round, and the Skyride offers an incredible panorama over the city, the Pacific Ocean beyond, and closer, the glittering tops of the Douglas firs that dot the mountainside.
Days 13-15: Journey home
Your morning is free to spend at leisure in Vancouver. We then make our way to Vancouver airport for our flight to London, arriving on Day 14.
Caribou Lodge, Banff
An impressive log-clad hotel situated a short walk from the centre of Banff, the Caribou Lodge is an authentic mountainside experience. From the welcoming fire in its cosy lobby, Caribou Lodge is heated throughout and has excellent hot pool, steam and exercise rooms. Chelsea Hotel, Toronto
Situated in the very heart of Toronto, the Chelsea Hotel (formerly the Delta Hotel Chelsea) is Canada's largest hotel.
