Dotted along the western coast of Bird Island are 24 simple yet comfortable chalets set amongst the island’s old coconut plantation. All chalets overlook the natural parkland and towards the clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Bird Island is an eco-lodge and thus all rooms do not have air-conditioning, fridges, telephones or televisions.
Beachcomber Bird Island Bungalow
24 bungalows face the Indian Ocean. Each Bungalow is equipped with the following: king size bed with mosquito net, fan, safe, spacious verandah, hairdryer and complimentary Wi-Fi. With a terrace.
Enjoy the laid back atmosphere at the restaurant and bar , in fact why not follow a tasty meal with a friendly game or two of pool. With an abundance of activities to try, you certainly have lots to keep you entertained during your stay. Delightful encounters with 100 year old giant tortoises await and you won't want to miss out on the phenomenal sight of turtle hatchings heading toward the ocean for the first time. Keen to familiarise yourself with your spectacular surroundings? Take time to embark on a nature trail before paddling through the clear waters in a kayak and unwinding on the powder soft beaches.
The restaurant and bar at Bird Island offers a pleasant and cool place to relax during the day and is a hub of activity during dinner. Fresh fish and island grown vegetables and salads complement the buffet style local cuisine. Dress code is smart casual. Breakfast is served between 07:00 and 09:00, lunch from 13:00 and dinner from 20:00.
The crystal-clear waters that surround Bird Island make for some of the best snorkelling in the Seychelles. Snorkelling and kayaking are complimentary. Shore fishing is allowed but equipment is not supplied. There is no pool on Bird Island.
Beachcomber Bird Island Land Activities
Bird Island is a bird watcher’s paradise, and resident conservationist, Robby, can teach you all about the flora and fauna of this unique island paradise. Observe the giant tortoises, and, if you’re on the island at the right time, witness the hatching of two distinct species of turtles. Bird Island is also home to several species of birds including Sooty Terns and White-Tailed Tropicbirds.
