Valmorel is situated between the Vanoise National Park and the Lauziere massive in the Savoie region of the Northern Alps.
Nestled on the edge of forests covering the sides of the Cheval Noir Mountain, Valmorel is a typically charming ski resort village, whose architecture is unequalled in France. Valmorel has a reputation as a family resort but there is also some excellent off-piste skiing. It is part of the Le Grand Domaine ski domain. The lift served area extends from 1400 m to 2500 m, crossing high mountain pastures and steep-faced mountains.
The whole ski area that covers Valmorel, Doucy Combelouvière and Saint François Longchamp are equipped with 50 ski lifts, 342 snow cannons and a ‘Snow Zone' complete with a boardercross course, slopestyle and freeride area.
