Slovenia has it all, a Venetian style coastline with Mediterranean beaches, the Slovenian Alps perfect for skiing and beautiful lakes.
Not much bigger than Wales, Slovenia is the green heart of Europe. Slovenia offers majestic views, Mediterranean temperatures, forests, meadows and snow-capped mountains.
The capital, Ljubljana is a charming medieval town with rich cultural heritage. Throughout the year there are several festivals including summer and jazz festivals and try traditional Slovenian food at the “Open Kitchen” food market.
Ljubljana is a great place to stay whilst you explore the Slovenian countryside, try your hand at hiking, cycling and rafting. Lake Bled is at its most beautiful in the summer, explore it by boat or swim around the lake itself. The lesser-known lake, Lake Bohinj is located in the Julian Alps and Triglav National Park. You can explore the beautiful area of the world’s steepest zip line. Slovenia has lots to offer for nature lovers, you can learn about the underground caving systems and the “baby dragons” hidden in at Postojna cave. You can discover the largest underground canyon in the world at the UNESCO 0protected Skocjan caves or ride the famous Lipizzaner horses in Lipica.
