Day 1 – Fly to Naples – Cava dei Tirreni

Fly from London (regional connections available) to Naples with British Airways. Enjoy a panoramic tour of Naples before an introductory lecture and welcome dinner. Stay at the Habita79 Hotel (or similar) for 6 nights.

Day 2 – Naples

Guided tour of Naples, including visits to the Monastero di Santa Chiara, Spaccanapoli and Cappella San Severo. In the afternoon, there will be some free time for independent exploring.

Day 3 - Naples

Visit Certosa di San Martino, then journey by funicular to Naples’ Pignasecca Market. After lunch, enjoy a tour of the city’s Duomo before returning to the hotel.

Day 4 – Baia – Cumae

Begin the day with a visit to Baia archaeological park, including the impressive castle. Continue to Cumae, home to the first ancient Greek settlement on the Italian mainland, to see remnants of Greek temples.

Day 5 – Pompeii – Oplontis

Visit Pompeii, highlights of which include the basilica, the Temple of Apollo and the oldest known Roman amphitheatre. Then continue on to nearby Oplointis, which was also buried during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.

Day 6 – Herculaneum – Naples

In the morning, tour Herculaneum, visiting the Casa d’Argo, seeing the extraordinary mosaic at Casa di Nettuno e Anfitrite and the public baths at Terme del Foro. Then head to Naples to visit the renowned archaeological museum. Enjoy wine tasting at a local estate before returning to the hotel.

Day 7 – Paestum – Fly to London

This morning, travel to Paestum to see its collection of Greek temples before transferring to Naples’ airport for your flight.

Habita79 lies just a stroll away from Pompeii’s renowned ruins. This modern hotel is housed within an imposing, early 20th-century Italianate building, but its interior is unabashedly contemporary. Facilities available to guests include a spa and fitness centre, two restaurants as well as a rooftop terrace affording views across Pompeii.
