Day 1: Depart from London Tilbury

Join Columbus in Tilbury, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail this afternoon.

Day 2: Rotterdam, Netherlands

Your first port of call is the Dutch maritime city of Rotterdam. Step ashore to see the stunning architecture of the Erasmus Bridge and the remarkable Markthal food market. Browse the World-class museums, explore the lovingly preserved Old Harbour and stroll past nearby Delfshaven’s step-gabled houses and ancient wharves.

Day 3: At Sea

Spend today relaxing on board.

Day 4: Invergordon, Scotland

This morning Columbus ties up in the great natural harbour at Invergordon on Scotland’s rugged East Coast. Step ashore to explore, or join an optional shore excursion, perhaps to Loch Ness in search of Nessie. Golfers may head to the fine course at nearby Dornoch, while whisky connoisseurs can make a pilgrimage to the celebrated Glen Ord Distillery.

Day 5: Portree, Isle of Skye

The Isle of Skye is a wonderful place to explore. Spend the day in picturesque Portree, with its quayside fish and chip shops, or join an excursion and head north, past the Old Man of Storr, to Duntum’s Museum of Island Life; west to brooding Dunvegan Castle; south past the spectacular Cuillins; or even across the bridge to mainland Scotland.

Day 6: Tobermory, Isle of Mull

The small town of Tobermory on the beautiful island of Mull, with its picturesque, multi-coloured houses encircling the waterfront, is a delightful place to explore, as is nearby Duart Castle, the famous seat of Clan Maclean.

Day 7: Belfast, Northern Ireland

This morning, Columbus arrives in historic Belfast. Explore the city centre, visit the new Titanic Quarter developments that pay homage to the ill-fated vessel, or join an optional excursion to the vast stone staircase of the Giant’s Causeway on the Antrim Coast beyond.

Day 8: Ringaskiddy, Ireland

Ringaskiddy, at the mouth of the river Lee, lies just around the coast from the great trading city of Cork, the historic capital of south-west Ireland. Step ashore to explore, and perhaps head to foodie heaven Kinsale or famous Blarney Castle

Day 9: St. Mary’s, Isles of Scilly

This morning finds us in the Isles of Scilly. Columbus anchors here in sheltered waters, giving you the opportunity to go ashore to explore Hugh Town on St Mary’s, the flower-strewn byways beyond, and stunning Tresco, where the famous Abbey Gardens house Britain’s finest subtropical plant collection.

Day 10: St. Peter Port, Guernsey

Guernsey’s St Peter Port welcomes us this morning. See 800-year-old Castle Cornet, which guards the entrance to the harbour, wander the cobbled central quarter and make the most of the island’s tax-free shopping.

Day 11: Honfleur, France

Crossing the Channel a second time, Columbus’ final port of call is Honfleur at the mouth of the Seine. Wander the streets behind the pretty harbour, or perhaps join an optional excursion into the surrounding countryside.

Day 12: Arrive back at London Tilbury

Columbus arrives back in Tilbury, this morning, and you’ll have time to enjoy a last breakfast on board before you disembark.

Following a multi-million pound refit in 2015, Columbus has become the latest addition to the CMV ocean fleet.

This much-loved cruise ship has been serving the British market since 1989, when she was christened by Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn. Now sailing from her home port of London Tilbury, she offers a number of thrilling voyages close to home, throughout Europe and across the world.

Staying true to the CMV brand, Columbus cruises are normally entirely child-free. There are, however, two designated summertime sailings that will operate as ‘all-age cruises’ for all the family to join. When on board, the wide range of dining options, bars and leisure facilities, as well as the services of CMV’s friendly and attentive crew, ensure that you’ll enjoy a relaxed, unforgettable holiday.
