Day 1: Havana

The group meeting is at 6pm so if you arrive early you can explore Havana or we can organise extra expeditions for you.

Day 2: Havana

A guided tour of Havana's colourful streets and fascinating history gives you your first taste of the Cuban culture, after, a fun Spanish lesson will give you the linguistic tools needed to venture on your own and explore the town yourself.

Day 3: Cienfuegos

Today you will depart from Havana to Cienfuegos. On the way you will stop off at the Bay of Pigs to learn about the history of the failed exile here in the 1960's and to also enjoy the Caribbean waters. The crystal clear waters and coral reefs are perfect for snorkelers. Afterwards, you will continue your journey to Cienfuegos and visit the beautiful, Moroccan-influenced Palacio del Valle.

Day 4: Trinidad

You will leave Cienfuegos to discover the Che Guevara mausoleum and memorial.  You can see the impressive bronze statue of Che and learn about his eventful life. Then the group will drive to the Topes de Collantes National Park to Trinidad. The town is famous for its colonial roots and it remains the most preserved town in Cuba. Once in Trinidad, you will join an orientation walk around the colourful town. You can also choose to take part in the Cuban nightlife, go to a live music venue,  disco in a cave or why not take in a folklore show at one of the town's numerous open-air venues.

Day 5: Trinidad

On this day you can choose your activities. Find new places off the beaten track to explore or take advantage of your inclusive Salsa dance class. You could also choose to rent a bike and explore Trinidad further, go to the beach or learn a musical instrument.

Activities Included: Informal Salsa class

Day 6: Trinidad

Another day to enjoy with a free schedule, you could snorkel at Playa Ancon beach or choose to trek to El Nicho Waterfall, popular for its jewel-green lagoon and large cascading falls.

Day 7: Camaguey

On the way to Camaguey, your group will stop in Bayamo to explore the winding streets and discover its Colonial heritage. On your explorations, stop by the Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Soledad to see its baroque frescoes.

Day 8: Camaguey

Today you'll take a tour of Camaguey by bicycle taxi. On the tour, you'll visit a local market, parks, plazas and an art gallery. Each taxi carries two passengers and the tour is led by an English-speaking local guide. Your leader may suggest visiting a local farmers' market, where you can try local produce and fresh fruit and vegetables.

Day 9: Santiago De Cuba

Today you will be travelling to Santiago De Cuba,  set between the indomitable Sierra Maestra mountain range and the azure Caribbean, this city's historical centre and colonial architecture retain a timeworn air ideal for photographers.

Day 10: Santiago De Cuba

Today your leader will take you on a three-hour city tour of Santiago. You'll visit El Morro Castle, Ifigenia cemetery and the Moncada barracks and learn about the city's rich history

Day 11: Baracoa

On the way to Baracoa, you will get the chance to visit the Mirador de Malones for views of the Guantanamo Naval Base and surrounding bay. Baracoa was the first colonial town, and one of the most beautiful in Cuba. You can relax and enjoy your free time here, discover a lovely black sand beach an easy walk from town.

Day 12: Baracoa

Today is a free day to explore Baracoa. You can discover the rich history and cultural traditions that have been left seemingly untouched. There are ruins and forts from pirate attacks. You can choose to chill on a beach or hike to El Yunke, the famous table-top mountain sighted by Columbus during his first voyage to the island.

Day 13: Baracoa

Your timetable is also free today so why not hike through the rainforest to explore nearby caves and waterfalls or visit the Humboldt Nation Park, looking out for colourful parrots, lizards and hummingbirds. You could take a boat tour down a nearby river or maybe stop in at a working farm to learn about life on the land.

Day 14: Havana

You will take a short flight from Baracoa to Havana for your penultimate day. After arriving back in the capital head to Plaza de la Revolucion for your group tour, then you will have the afternoon free to explore

Day 15: Havana
