Day 1: Fly to Saigon
Fly overnight to Saigon.
Day 2: Saigon
On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 3: Discover Saigon
Sightseeing includes a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral, Central post office, reunification palace and the War Remnants Museum. You'll also visit Ben Thanh Market.
Days 4-5: Mekong Delta Cruise
Travel to Ben Tre and cruise on the Mekong river to explore the Delta, the rice basket of Vietnam. Travel through palm-lined canals on wooden sampans passing stilt houses and fish farms. Later on, you'll travel to Can Tho where you'll stay overnight. The next day, continue exploring the Mekong Delta before returning to Saigon.)
Day 6: Cu Chi Tunnels & Tay Ninh
Get to grips with the horrors of guerrilla warfare at the astonishing Cu Chi Tunnels before travelling to Tay Ninh to attend the noon service at the flamboyant Cao Dai Temple. Return to Saigon.
Days 7: Journey to Dalat
Travel to the beautiful hill station of Dalat, located in the cooler climate of the Central Highlands. en route you'll stop for lunch at Bao Loc and also visit a tea plantation. Dalat, known as the City of eternal spring, is surrounded by stunning forests and waterfalls. In the afternoon, why not relax with a coffee and take in picturesque views of Xuan Huong lake.
Days 8: Dalat Hill Station
Visit the Domaine de Marie Church, the Flower Gardens and an embroidery workshop before boarding an open-air train to journey out through the fantastic scenery of Trai Mat village. End the day browsing the stalls of Dalats busy market.
Day 9: Nha Trang Island Cruise
We wind our way from the highlands and along the coast to Nha Trang, Vietnam's beach capital. Take the turquoise waters for a cruise around the bays many islands with a stop off at one to enjoy a swim in the balmy waters.
Day 10: Qui Nhon
Visit the Po Nagar Cham Towers and continue on to the city of Qui Nhon.
Day 11: Son My & Hoi An
The Son My area saw some of the most horrific crimes of the Vietnam War - the My Lai massacre. Visit the memorial placed in honour of the victims. Continue on to Hoi An.
Day 12: Hoi An Walking Tour
Take a morning walking tour of charming Hoi An - a wonderfully laidback and traditional town that has managed to retain the charms of a bygone era. Visit a lovely old-style house, the Japanese Bridge, a Chinese temple and the market.
Day 13: Imperial Citadel, Hue
Take the scenic route to Hue over the Hai Van Pass. The epitome of Vietnams dynastic past, Hue is a dignified and scholarly city. Take a cyclo ride up to the imposing imperial citadel, based on Beijing's Forbidden City.
Day 14: Royal Tombs
Cruise along the Perfume River to Thein Mu Pagoda before heading for An Thien House. Visit the Royal Tomb of Minh Mang.
Day 15: Fly to Hanoi
Exuding a wonderfully exotic aura, Hanoi is the perfect combination of old Asia and new. Admire the collections of the Fine Arts Museum and stroll the atmospheric tangle of streets that make up the Old Quarter.
Day 16: Discover Hanoi
Explore the Ho Chi Minh Quarter, the Stilt house, One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature. This afternoon is free for you to spend at your leisure before an evening performance of the famous water puppets.
Day 17: Halong Bay Junk Cruise
Spend the day aboard a traditional junk cruising through the awe-inspiring beauty of Halong Bay. A fresh seafood meal is included during your voyage.
Day 18: Fly Hanoi to UK
Fly to the UK, arriving home the same or following day.
