After arriving in Vietnam, meet with your group for dinner at the KOTO restaurant, a local social enterprise.
Day 2: Hanoi
Today, your guide will lead you through Hanoi to learn about the area’s French colonial architecture on a tour that includes a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long. In Hanoi’s Old Quarter, we join a family that produces traditional papier-mâché masks. Hear their stories and make your own mask before we embark on this evening’s local street food tour.
Day 3: Hanoi - Halong Bay
Today, we journey through lush rural scenery to Halong Bay where we’ll take to the water on a traditional paddle steamer. After a stop off at the Sung Sot Grotto, we’ll enjoy a Vietnamese cooking demonstration and some complimentary canapés.
Day 4: Halong Bay - Hanoi - Danang - Hoi An
After breakfast, there's the opportunity to indulge in a spot of tai chi. Then, there's an included flight to Danang before we spend the night in Hoi An.
Day 5: Hoi An
After breakfast, the morning is yours to spend at your leisure. This afternoon, we’ll get our walking boots on for a guided tour of historic Hoi An before embarking on this evening’s street food tour, which includes making and sampling dumplings.
Day 6: Hoi An - Hoi Chi Minh City
Today we fly to Ho Chi Minh City. Once there, we’ll hop on one of Vietnam’s most charming modes of transport – a cyclo – to explore Chinatown, where we’ll visit Cha Tam Church and the Ong Pagoda. After our ride is over, we’ll stop off at a local communal house and a street lined with herbal medicine shops before arriving at the Bitexco Tower, where we’ll enjoy some sunset cocktails. Later, it’s onwards to the Opera House for tonight’s entertainment by Vietnam’s talented performance artists.
Day 7: Hoi Chi Minh City - Mekonh Delta - Can Tho
Next up on our Discovery tour is the Mekong Delta. We’ll explore the canals before sitting down to enjoy a lunch of Mekong specialities. Then, we’ll transfer to Can Tho.
Day 8: Can Tho - Siem Reap, Cambodia
We drive back to Ho Chi Minh City this morning to catch our flight to Siem Reap in Cambodia. Here, we’ll be picked up and transferred to our hotel.
Day 9: Siem Reap
Explore Angkor Wat with a leading stone conservation expert and learn how its world-famous religious structures were carved and designed. Then, we'll pay a visit to Ta Prohm Temple before setting off on a sunset cruise along the moat of Angkor Thom.
Day 10: Siem Reap
Today we cruise through mangrove forests to Kampong Phluk, an isolated Khmer community built on wooden stilts. Later, the village of Chansar awaits, where we’ll hop on an ox cart and journey through the fields before participating in some local activities.
Day 11: Siem Reap - Phnom Penh
We fly to Phnom Penh this morning. After lunch, we’ll visit the Royal Palace, with its Silver Pagoda and impressive Buddha structures. We also stop by the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum before checking out the Art Deco-inspired Central Market.
Day 12: Phnom Penh - Ho Chi Minh City
Spend today at your leisure before our flight back to Ho Chi Minh City, where our tour comes to a close.
