Wendy Wu Sapporo & Snow Monkeys Itinerary: 

Day 1-2 Fly to Tokyo

An overnight flight will take you to your starting point of Tokyo. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with your fellow Tour Group members. (D).

Day 3 Tokyo

Today you visit Meiji Shrine dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji. Afterwards, travel across town to Asakusa which is an old town enriched in ancient history. Spend some time at Sensoji which is Tokyo's oldest temple before making your way through the markets of Nakamise where you can enjoy a variety of traditional, local snacks and tourist souvenirs. After having lunch, take a boat cruise along the Sumida River passing under 12 bridges. The boat takes you to Hamarikyu garden which is surrounded by the Shiodome district's futuristic skyscrapers revealing Japans land of contrasts. You finish today's tour with a visit to the Edo-Tokyo Museum. (B,L).

Day 4 Tokyo to Nagano

This morning you can enjoy at leisure. In the afternoon, transfer by private bus to your hotel in the picturesque mountain capital city of Nagano where you stay for 2 nights. (B,D).

Day 5 Japan Snow Monkeys

Today you meet the Japanese Snow Monkeys in Jigokudani YÅn national park. Walk through the forested valley where you can watch these wonderful animals bathe in steaming pools. This afternoon, take a tour around the historic Zenkoji Temple.

Day 6 Fly to Sapporo

Sightsee your way back to Tokyo where you will then fly to Sapporo where you will have 3 nights stay. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 7 Sapporo Snow and Ice Festival

With your Local Expert, tour the highlights of the city of Sapporo with an extra visit to the Snow Festival. Begin your day by taking in the sights of the Tower Clock, an exquisite example of Meiji architecture. Walk the beautiful local park of Odori Avenue, before heading into the district of Susukino where you gaze at the hundreds of ice sculptures on display. Enjoy free time shopping before transferring to Sapporo Beer Factory, here enjoy optional beer tasting (paid locally). Finish your touring day with a Genghis Khan dinner, a Sapporo speciality of BBQ Lamb. (B,L,D).

Day 8 More Sapporo

This morning view Sapporo's most famous sightseeing spots including breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains from Okurayama Viewing Point. In the afternoon, visit the pretty port town of Otaru. Take a stroll along the peaceful canal before enjoying some of Japan's best sushi in an atmospheric ambience of the Snow Light Path Festival. (B,L).

Day 9 Sapporo to Kyoto

This morning fly from Shin Chitose Airport to Osaka Airport. Transfer by coach to a private tea ceremony in a Kyoto tearoom before continuing on to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at your own leisure. (B).

Day 10 Kyoto

Your final day is action packed by exploring the wonderful sights of the Ancient Capital, Kyoto. Begin your day at the Kinkakuji Temple, known as the Golden Pavillion, one of Kyoto's most famous temples. From here visit the flatland Nijo Castle and then onto the Nishiki Market Known as ‘Kyoto's Kitchen'. End your touring day by wondering the Buddhist temple in Higashiyama District of Sanjusangendo. Tonight, enjoy a fabulous farewell dinner with your Tour Group at a restaurant within walking distance to your hotel.

Day 11: Fly home
