Hurtigruten Antarctic Circle Expedition

Cross the Antarctic Circle at latitude 66° 33' 39'' to go where very few footsteps have been before.
Starting in Buenos Aires, with its ‘European like' atmosphere and often referred to as the “Paris of South America” you have the time to drop by the iconic, balconied presidential palace before embarking on MS Fram in Ushuaia and setting the course for the Southern Ocean.

En route to Antarctica, you will sail through the notorious and historically challenging the Drake Passage, where two oceans meet. Then you head through open sea towards a place of infinite white wilderness, with its overwhelming nature and wildlife. This trip will certainly offer some spectacular photo opportunities with hundreds of sights to see of old research stations, diverse landscapes and amazing animal life so have your camera ready to fire. Opportunist landscapes such as Deception Island, Half Moon Island and Yankee Harbour are to name a few to begin your adventure.

Paradise Harbour offers another rare opportunity for a mainland stop and to offer some of the finest vistas of the Antarctic Peninsula.
You will take advantage of the largest natural seasonal phenomenon on Earth by sailing through the sea ice in Antarctica of which during the austral summer there are more than 20km of the sea ice melts.
Hardly anyone sails this far south, let alone go ashore.
