Day 1 UK-Cape Town

After taking Saga's included UK door-to-door travel service to the airport, fly overnight to Cape Town.

Day 2 Cape Town-Simon's Town

Arrive in Cape Town and continue to Simons Town on the Cape Peninsula, where you will spend the first three nights of your tour at either the Quayside Hotel, or the Calders Hotel & Conference Centre in nearby Fish Hoek, dependent upon your date of departure. The Quayside is a boutique hotel with a scenic harbourside setting, close to the famous penguins of Boulder's Beach. It offers a quieter, more relaxed base from which to explore Cape Town, a 40-minute drive away.

Day 3 Simon’s Town

After breakfast enjoy a half-day tour of Cape Peninsular with an exhilarating 3-minute funicular ride called the Flying Dutchman to a decommissioned lighthouse that first blinked its warning light across the southern ocean in the 1850’s. You will also explore the Cape of Good Hope, a rocky headland on South Africa’s Atlantic coast and a place of special interest and significance to sailors and tourists alike.

Day 4 Simon’s Town (or Fish Hoek, on some departures)

Look forward to a day at leisure to explore Simon’s Town and its surrounds. Simon’s Town has been an important naval port since its foundation in 1680 and you can discover its history at the Naval and Submarine Museums.

Day 5 Simon’s Town-Cape Town-Somerset West

After breakfast, drive to Cape Town and enjoy a tour of the city, including a cable car ride (weather permitting) to the top of Table Mountain for a bird’s-eye view and stunning vistas over the bay to Robben Island and Apostle mountain.

Day 6 Somerset West

Discover the local wine farms at your own pace aboard the Green Line hop-on-hop-off tram. On your journey you’ll be treated to incredible views of Franschhoek’s mountains as you visit the estates of Rickety Bridge, Grande Provence, Mont Rochelle, Le Lude, La Bri, La Bourgogne, Holden Manz and La Couronne.

Day 7 Somerset West-Pilanesberg

After breakfast, fly to Johannesburg and transfer to the Ivory Tree Lodge in the Pilanesberg National Park for a two-night stay. Set out on the first of four thrilling game drives through the park, in search of the ‘Big Five’.

Day 8 Pilanesberg

After breakfast, embark on a day in the bush, including two game drives and a bush experience. You’ll travel through the park in an open, 4x4 safari vehicle and experience encounters with some of the park’s 7,000 animals.

Day 9 Pilanesberg-Johannesburg-UK

On your last morning in Pilanesberg you will be treated to a morning game drive before breakfast. Mornings are the perfect time for spotting the abundant wildlife of the Pilanesberg National Park, with large predators choosing the cooler hours of the day to hunt. After lunch, travel to Johannesburg airport for your return overnight flight to the UK.

Day 10 UK

Arrive in the UK for your included door-to-door travel service home.
