Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Tashkent

Fly overnight from London (regional connections available) to Tashkent with Uzbekistan Airways. 

Day 2: Tashkent

Arrive in Tashkent and transfer to the Miran Hotel (or similar) for 1 night. Afternoon tour of the old city stopping at Amir Timur Square and the Kukeldash mosque and madrasa.

Day 3: Fly to Urgench • Khiva

Transfer to the airport and take a 1-hour morning flight to Urgench. Visit the ancient fortresses of Ayaz Kala and Toprak Kala before an afternoon drive to Khiva via Ulli Khovli. Stay 2 nights at the Malika Kheivak Hotel (or similar). 

Day 4: Khiva

Full-day tour of Khiva, including Kunya Ark, Islam Khoja minaret, Tash Havli Palace and a local bakery.

Day 5: Bukhara

Full-day drive to Bukhara (7-8 hours) through the Kyzylkum desert, stopping at the Amudaryo river for photos. Stay at the Asia Hotel (or similar) for 3 nights.

Day 6: Bukhara

City tour of Bukhara, including visits to Chor Minor mosque, the Poi-Kaylan complex, the surviving trade domes and Lyab-i-Hauz complex, once the city’s principal source of water. This evening enjoy dinner and a cooking demonstration.

Day 7: Bukhara

After breakfast, continue your tour of Bukhara, including visits to the imposing fortress known as ‘The Ark’, located on the site of a 2,000-year-old fortress; the Summer Palace; and the Samanid mausoleum, built in the early 10th century with a facade incorporating Zoroastrian symbols.

Day 8: Shahrisabz • Samarkand

Drive to Shahrisabz, birthplace of Tamerlane, and visit the summer palace, mosques and mausoleums. Continue to Samarkand for 3 nights at the Registan Plaza Hotel or the Emirkhan Hotel (or similar).

Day 9: Samarkand

Full-day tour of Samarkand, including visits to Registan Square, the Ulugbek Observatory, Afrosiab Museum, Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, and the Bibi Khanum mosque.

Day 10: Samarkand

Continue your tour of Samarkand. Visit Gur Emir mausoleum, which marks the final resting place of several members of the Timurid dynasty, including Timur himself. Other visits include Nodir Divan Begi madrasa, Hazrat Khizr mosque and the Khodja Doniyor mausoleum. After lunch, stop at a silk carpet factory before returning to your hotel.

Day 10: Samarkand

Continue your tour of Samarkand. Visit Gur Emir mausoleum, which marks the final resting place of several members of the Timurid dynasty, including Timur himself. Other visits include Nodir Divan Begi madrasa, Hazrat Khizr mosque and the Khodja Doniyor mausoleum. After lunch, stop at a silk carpet factory before returning to your hotel.

Day 12: Fly to London

Morning at leisure. Afternoon transfer to the airport. Fly from Tashkent to London with Uzbekistan Airways. 


Fergana Valley
3 Nights 
After the tour, explore Uzbekistan’s cultural heartland with visits to some of the major towns in the Fergana valley. Highlights include Andijan’s vibrant local market and the Yodgorlik silk factory in Margilan, which still uses traditional production methods that date back to the days of the Silk Road caravans.

Day 12: Kokand • Fergana valley
Drive to the Fergana region of Uzbekistan, visiting the ancient city of Kokand en route. Stay 2 nights at the Asia Hotel (or similar). (B, D)
Day 13: Fergana valley
Full-day tour of the region, including Andijan and Fergana. (B, D
Day 14: Tashkent
Morning at leisure. Return to Tashkent and stay at the Grand Mir (or similar). (B)
Day 15: Fly to London

Nukus & Moynak
3 Nights
Prior to the tour, journey to the Aral Sea, once one of the four largest lakes in the world but today little more than a toxic puddle due to disastrous agricultural planning in the 1960s. Visit the ghost town of Moynak, a former fishing village, and Nukus, which contains an excellent collection of avant-garde art.

3 Nights 
Termez is located in the far south of the country, close to an ancient crossing over the Amu Darya river leading into Afghanistan. The location of the city has changed throughout history due to a succession of invaders. The first settlement was established in the third century BC. Ghengis Khan then destroyed the city in 1220, leaving the inhabitants to rebuild in its current location on the left bank of the Amu Darya river. Much of the modern city dates from the early 19th century and, during the Soviet era, was effectively closed to the outside world.


Asia Bukhara Hotel, Bukhara

Asia Bukhara Hotel is located in the heart of the old city, within easy walking distance of the historical buildings and monuments of Old Bukhara. The hotel is constructed in the style of a traditional two-storey madrasa, with much of the furniture handmade by local craftsmen. Hotel features: 95 rooms, restaurant, rooftop bar, outdoor swimming pool (open during high season only). 

Malika Kheivak, Khiva

Situated in the old town of Khiva, the Malika Kheivak hotel is near to all the main sights of interest. This welcoming hotel offers 22 comfortable rooms decorated in traditional style. The restaurant serves local cuisine and regional wines and spirits at the bar. Features: 22 rooms, restaurant, laundry, ironing. 

Miran International Hotel, Tashkent

The 5-star Miran International Hotel is one of the newest hotels in Tashkent and located 4km from the centre of the city, close to the central railway station and 15 minutes' drive from the airport. The hotel's rooms are individually decorated in an elegant style, whilst the restaurant serves a mixture of Turkish, Indian, European and Chinese cuisine.

The Emirkhan Hotel, Samarkand

The Emirkhan is a characterful property located within the heart of Samarkand and 1.8km from the renowned Registan Square. All guestrooms are traditionally furnished in bright colours with gold detail. Not all rooms have a bath.
