Neilson have spent decades fine tuning their childcare. Focusing on the concept of flexibility, fun and freedom, they now provide inclusive childcare for those ages 2 – 18 years old as part of their beachclub holidays.

With 6 Kids Clubs all offering a range of exciting activities and social events, tailored to each age group, children can learn new skills and make friends while under the supervision of Neilson’s Childcare team.

Neilson also offer resources for those travelling with babies and younger children, with pre-bookable packs of essential equipment, and a la carte creche services.

We want you as parents to be able to relax, safe in the knowledge that your children are enjoying themselves whilst being safely supervised. Below, we’ve answered some common questions parents might have when booking a Neilson family holiday for the first time.

What qualifications do Neilson’s childcare team have?

All childcare team members as a minimum must have previous experience in childcare, a valid First Aid Certificate, strong swimming abilities, fluency in English and have completed an enhanced DBS check. Early years leaders also have either a BA (Honours) in Early Childcare or a NVQ Level 3 Childcare qualification. All team members will have also completed training on their resort’s health and safety procedures.

Which Kids Clubs are inclusive?

Neilson operates 6 inclusive Kids Clubs at its Summer Beachclubs for those aged between 2 and 18 years old. Activities run throughout the day, but parents are welcome to sign children in and out as they like.

Though these clubs are inclusive, spaces are limited, so it is recommended that you pre-book any spaces before departure.

  • Sea Urchins (2 and 3 years old)
  • Sea Badgers (4 and 5 years old)
  • Surfbusters (6 and 7 years old)
  • Sharksters (8 and 9 years old)
  • Stingrays (10 and 11 years old)
  • Surf Squad (12 and 13 years old)
  • Wave Riders (14 and 15 years old)
  • TAG* (16 and 17 years old)


At La Pared, there are 2 inclusive Kids Clubs. Mini Rippers (6-10 years old) operates throughout the winter season while Surf Squad (11-13 years old) is only available during half term holidays.

For those aged 8-13 years old, Neilson also runs Hot Shots in association with The Royal Yachting Association at an extra cost.

What childcare is available for babies?

While inclusive childcare starts at 2 years old, Neilson also offers Starfish Creche for children aged between 4 and 23 months at all its Summer Beachclubs. An extra cost applies.


What do children need to bring to the Kids Clubs?

Neilson recommends that children bring their swimming kit, a towel, sun cream and a change of clothes.
All children booked into a Kids Club (excluding TAG) will be given a rash vest on their first day. All children 9 and under will also be provided with a sun hat and a drawstring bag to help keep their belongings together.

What activities do the Kids Clubs run?

Starfish Creche
Those in the Starfish creche can look forward to fun activities such as beach picnics, sandcastle building and well as painting and playing in the pool. (An extra cost applies)

Sea Urchins
Toddlers can look forward to exciting new experiences, with boat trips and art and crafts being just some of the activities available.

Sea Badgers
Those in Sea Badgers will spend more time out on the water, with kayaking and dinghy sailing in the company of their team leaders. While on land, they’ll have fun on the tennis courts and having pirate adventures.

Surfbusters
Kids in this club get the chance to be more proactive while on the water as they sail and kayak off the beach. They’ll also get the chance to play sports such as tennis and volleyball.

Mini Rippers
Taking advantage of La Pared’s great surfing conditions, children will be able to learn to surf, with a free lesson every 3 days. They can also enjoy outdoor games and the fitness deck.

Sharksters
Children can enjoy group activities such as volleyball, rounders and sailing.

Stingrays
Activities for Stingrays are focused on making friends and working as a team both on and off the water.

Surf Squads
Teenagers can learn new skills with a wide range of activities during the day.

Wave Riders
Wave riders can try as many activities as possible, as 14-year-olds can join the Beachclubs’ adult sessions.

TAG
Those in TAG are encouraged to take part in any of the adult sessions and as well as join in with fun and games.

Hot Shots
Those enrolled in Hot Shots will take part in windsurfing and dinghy sailing under the supervision of fully qualifies Royal Yachting Association Instructors.

What is available for those travelling with young children?

You can pre-order at no cost, either a baby or toddler pack for your room. A baby pack includes a kettle, microwave, a changing mat, a steriliser, and a bouncer chair. A toddler pack includes a kettle, a microwave, and a changing mat. Each Beachclub also has baby baths, cots and pushchairs that can requested.
On site, you’ll find a shop that stocks other essentials, including nappies, formula milk and suntan lotion.

 

Is there one-to-one care available?

Neilson offer a tailormade one-to-one care service for those under 16 years old, which is flexible to what is best for the child in question. You’ll be assigned a Children’s Club staff member for the entire duration of your holiday. Your child will be able to participate in the Children’s Club for 6 days a week, though you may need to pick up your child for an hour a day so that your designated staff member can take their break.
This service is at an extra cost and needs to be requested and booked in advance due to limited availability.


What evening childcare is available?

There are a number of different evening childcare arrangements available.

  • For 2 nights a week, all the inclusive kids’ clubs operate until 11pm.
  • For those aged 5 and under, Sleep Club offers extra childcare on three additional evenings for an extra cost.
  • For those aged between 5 and 11 years old, if required, extra childcare is available for free on three additional evenings.
  • For those aged 11+, each Kids Club runs social evenings until 10pm for four nights of the week Please note, no additional evening childcare is available for those under 11 at Cosmos Beachclub.

Is in-room babysitting available?

For health and safety reasons, Neilson does not offer in-room babysitting. Children should be always supervised when not attending Kids Clubs.
