Wendy Wu have also released a selection of their tours on specific dates which offer no single supplement, which can save their customers considerable sums.
This growing trend seems to be catching on with more than just single people, as research suggests that 60% of people traveling alone are in relationships. Furthermore, there is a high repeat factor of 38% who have already traveled solo. This suggests that this range of solo tours is appealing to those who want to explore new interests and these tours offer the support to allow them to do so.
Whilst solo tours of this kind are relatively new to the scene, adventure and youth-based tours such as those offered by Contiki and Intrepid have been ahead of the game for a while now. Contiki tours are aimed at the under 30s and offer various styles of tour to suit every need. Contiki is focused on the social aspect of a group tour. It is therefore perfect for young travel enthusiasts who want to meet new people and have fun. Intrepid also offers the option to travel solo, or you can share a room with someone else who wants to travel alone, as long as they are of the same gender. If you prefer to have your own room then you can pay for a single supplement to upgrade accordingly. Although Intrepid is not targeted at solo travellers, these adventure tours focus on real-life experiences and attract plenty of solo travellers. Intrepid estimates that 50% of its travellers are solo.
