Alana Beachclub – the jewel in the Neilson crown

10/10 and congratulations to Neilson!

Having holidayed in a few Neilson resorts over the years, I knew what I was heading to in Croatia. Didn’t I ?

Well, I’ve been blown away with this amazing resort and I would never have known this was the opening week of the season – the team have it running like clockwork.

Beauty & activity in partnership make this my new favourite of the Beachclubs.

Forgetting the hour & 45-minute transfer (which feels a lot less when watching the scenery pass by) I cannot fault this resort.

Set at the bottom, and in walking distance of the stunning Paklenica National Park, there is everything you need to ‘relax as hard as you like’. A short 20-minute walk brings you into the village of Starigrad Paklenica – ideal for the few non-inclusive evenings with a choice of local tavernas for you to sample Croatian delicacies.

There’s an extremely well stocked and reasonably priced hypermarket just next door – so if you don’t want to take all your toiletries, or if you forget anything, you can easily purchase there.

A huge bay for sailing, SUP, waterskiing and Kayaking spreads out from the coast at the edge of beautiful hotel gardens and in view of the amazing Olympic size swimming pool.

6 tennis courts allow access for everyone to get their share of ‘playtime’

An indoor gym & fitness studio and outdoor fitness deck cater for those who prefer not to venture to sea – or to mix it up with all the other activities.

There is also a range of mountain and ‘town’ bikes to choose from, so whether you fancy a trip to town or a trek through the National park, they’ve got one suitable.

All activities can be taught in levels from green (beginner) to black (advanced) – think of them the same as skiing – or you can use the equipment freely yourself if preferred.

Holidaymakers spending all day around the pool, on the beach or playing the mini golf are included & welcomed just as much as the high-octane sports enthusiasts – your holiday, totally your choice.

The hotel offers a great range of room categories in the tower and side blocks, including family rooms, sea view, twin & double, some interconnecting and cabins in the gardens – there’s a room type for everyone, each with modern bathrooms having rainfall showers and bright colours.

The 10th floor of the tower is home to the Sky Bar which has the most amazing views over the resort and local area – the perfect spot for an evening cocktail watching some of the most amazing sunsets I’ve seen anywhere.

Children have their own special holiday to remember too – the attentive childcare team have all bases covered – with separate clubs having activities out on the water to movie rooms and playgrounds a plenty, there’s something for all ages, from babies to teens – you’re likely to not see very much of them – unless you want to, of course!

Tap water is clean & fresh and safe to drink with the bar staff happily filling up bottles with ice & water to keep you hydrated throughout the day, whilst going about your chosen activities.

The main restaurant caters for the daily breakfast & lunch and 4 included evening meals with a wonderfully varied buffet. Meats & fish dishes at every sitting with salads, pastas and deserts to choose from. They even have a selection of vegan & gluten free choices available. 2 social tables allow for solo travellers, or anyone who wants to expand their holiday network, to mix & mingle and feel part of a larger group. If you don’t feel like venturing out on the other 3 evenings, they also offer a choice of menu you can pay for – everything has been thought of to make your holiday as hassle free as possible.

The large beach bar offers a social atmosphere and houses the fun quiz night and ‘Rock the room’ & the famous awards night – competitiveness? Never ????

There is also a fantastic wellness centre offering a choice of treatments including facials & a range of massages to help ease the stresses & tight muscles away!

Conclusion

This is a wonderful resort that I feel privileged to have visited – I would recommend anyone to book a stay here, whether a solo traveller, a group or family, it’s perfect – you can do as much or as little as you like and truly have the holiday you desire & deserve.
