Epirus is in the north-west corner of Greece. It has fabulous beaches and unforgettable verdant shores bathed in sunlight and washed by the emerald Ionian. The mountains seem to rise up out of the sea and the forests, wild vegetation, lagoons, rivers and wetlands provide sanctuary to thousands of birds.
Even the most discerning of travellers will be satisfied with its endless natural beauty and its long fascinating history.
The main beaches and tourist resorts include Parga, Syvota and Preveza. The principal ancient sites in Epirus are Dodona, the Nekromanteion of Ephyra and the city of Nikopolis founded by Augustus.
