Itinerary - Highlights Of Peru Cox & Kings
Day 1 To Lima: Fly from London to Lima, via Amsterdam, with KLM. Transfer to the Sol de Oro Hotel Lima for 2 nights. (N)
Day 2 Lima: Optional tours include morning tour of the historic centre of Lima, one of the major cities in the Spanish conquest of the Americas, or a visit to the Larco museum. (B)
Day 3 To Sacred Valley: Morning flight to Cuzco, set high in the Andes Mountains. Transfer to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting the Indian market at Pisac and the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo en route. Stay overnight at the Casona Yucay. (B)
Day 4 To Machu Picchu: Transfer to Ollanta station and take the train to Machu Picchu, one of the world’s great travel experiences. Take a guided tour of the ruins and stay at El Mapi Hotel for 1 night. (B, L)
Day 5 To Cuzco: Morning at leisure (optional excursions) before returning to Cuzco, the ancient Inca capital where Spanish churches and mansions sit alongside Inca remains. Transfer to the Eco Inn Cuzco for 3 nights. (B)
Day 6 Cuzco: Morning tour of Cuzco, with its historic buildings and large baroque cathedral. (B)
Day 7 Cuzco: At leisure. Optional traditional Andean theatre show. (B)
Day 8 To London: Fly to Lima and connect with your KLM flight to London, via Amsterdam. (B)

*Festival: The 18 June departure coincides with the Inti Raymi ‘Festival of the Sun’ (supplement of £165 for entrance tickets). This festival is held in Sacsayhuamán, just outside Cuzco and each year Andean Indians dress in colourful costumes and perform ancient Inca rites to the sun.
