Day 1: UK – Santiago

Day 2: Santiago

Santiago has a diverse mix of European culture and influence, which according to the New York Times is driving the city’s ‘style revolution’. This trendy city is best explored on foot. Wander through the atmospheric neighbourhoods, taking in the Andean vibes and gazing up at the surrounding mountain views. Explore the architecture and meander through the boulevards, or visit the museums and galleries at your own pace.

Day 3: Valparaiso

Welcome to Valparaiso, where the colourful flowerpot-laden alleys are canvas to Latin America’s best street art. Wander through a maze of cobbled streets and coloured houses as you learn about the poets, philosophers and artists that all add to the magic of this romantic city. Prepare to be as smitten at Chile’s art elite, especially after visiting the Nobel prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda’s house on the hill.

Day 4: Atacama

Embrace desert life as you fly away from buzzing civilisation to the tranquil moon-like Atacama desert today. Your adventure begins at Calama, the gateway to the geological and archaeological wonders of the central desert. There’s time to explore before you’re whisked off to San Pedro de Atacama with its pretty adobe-flanked streets. It has a laid-back artistic vibe encouraged by the heat and colourful indigenous culture.

Day 5 – 6: Atacama

The never-ending wilderness and surreal landscape of Atacama can be deceptive. There are many hidden treats waiting for you. Take a dip in steaming geysers, explore extraordinary vegetation or marvel at snow-capped mountains. With two-days here, there’s plenty of time to get active. Take a hike up one of the many volcanoes, hit the dunes on a 4WD adventure. In the evening, take advantage of some of the world’s clearest skies and do some sparkling star-gazing.

Day 7 – 8: Atacama to Wine Country

Swap one spectacular destination for another! We’ll take the pain out of leaving the Atacama by taking you to the gloriously green Casablanca Valley, Chile’s verdurous wine country. The Mediterranean climate conjures up the perfect terroir for the crisp white wine it produces. The balmy weather is also perfect for tasting the crisp, zesty wines. Enjoy the intimate wine lodge and laze by the pool after a personal wine tasting session, or explore the estate on foot or horseback.

Day 9: Wine Country & Torres del Paine

In good conditions, the flight South to Patagonia is a truly awe-inspiring. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Southern icefield, glaciers, crater lakes and volcanoes as you descend towards Torres del Paine National Park. As you turn off the main highway, you’ll see the famous spiky peaks of Torres del Paine National Park. A whole new world of fiery gorse, sculpturesque trees and roaming guanacos awaits you.

Day 10 – 11: Torres del Paine

Enjoy the dramatic sights of the park over the next few days under the endless skies of Torres del Paine. This vast landscape is best explored on foot, horseback, mountain bike or by boat. Discover lakes, glaciers and granite peaks and big sky tracks, topped by otherworldly cloud formations. After roaming this adventurer’s playground, slip into the spa or snug down by a roaring fire and indulge in delicious local cuisine.

Day 12: Torres del Paine – Santiago

Refreshed from the crisp, clean air of Patagonia, you will return to Santiago today with a spring in your step. Enjoy your return to the mainland with a visit to the arts hub of the city, the Bellavista quarter. Here you can spend your last night enjoying a jazz concert or a sumptuous dinner at one of Santiago’s fine seafood restaurants.

Day 13: Santiago – UK

Saunter Santiago’s gloriously cosmopolitan streets, stocking up on souvenirs and enjoy a last leisurely lunch in one of the superb cafes on your last day in Chile. Return on an overnight flight or extend your adventure by heading out to the remote and mysterious Easter Island.
