Val Thorens Ski Holidays

Val Thorens – one of the three principal resorts that make up the 3 Valleys, one of the largest ski areas in the world – has many claims to fame.  Not only is it the highest point in the 3 Valleys, but Val Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe, with virtually the entire skiing area being above 2000m.  It has one of the most enviable snow records in the Alps, one of the longest seasons (usually mid-November to early May), and even the highest nightclub in Europe!  It is actually the highest village in Europe, a claim no longer in dispute since the community built a church in 1991 to stymie the points of order from rivals and pedants!

From modest beginnings – just 3 drag lifts in 1971 – Val Thorens has developed into one of the most expansive and sophisticated ski resorts in the world.  It is a purpose built resort but with the most incredible and detailed level of planning undertaken in order to create almost the perfect ski resort.  Set in a huge ski bowl, with a wide choice of runs heading back to resort, an exhilarating snow-sure skiing holiday is virtually guaranteed.

An exceptional skiing experience is promised – perfectly groomed runs, open powder fields, challenging mogul fields and miles of off-piste, not to mention some of the liveliest après-ski in the Alps.  Take in the exceptional views of the incredible Glacier de Péclet from the Cime de Caron, reached by one of the biggest cable cars in the world, described as ‘the most beautiful view in the Alps’ by the Michelin Green Guide.

The resort itself has plenty to keep you occupied, including an ice rink, bowling alley, swimming pools, and over 40 bars and 60 restaurants featuring local and international cuisine.  You can even go mountain-biking on snow!
