Alpe d'Huez is one of Europe's premier skiing venues. With 249 km of piste and 84 ski lifts, the resort is now one of the world's largest.
The Sarennes ski run, the longest in Europe at 16km, joins the Pic Blanc to the Sarenne Gorge. As well as being the starting point for many off-piste itineraries it can also be skied by moonlight. Pic Blanc (3330m), the highest point of the ski area, offers breathtaking views of the Alps including Mont Blanc, Mont Cervin and the Meije. On a clear day a fifth of France can be seen from this point.
Alpe d'Huez is a modern resort, with 300 shops, an outdoor skating rink, 2 heated pools (indoor and outdoor) and also has a sports stadium. There is a wide range of restaurants, bars and cafés. The countless terraces ensure that you can always find a sunny spot to relax in.
